The Compassionate Friends of Ottawa can use some help right now.
In this international organization there are over forty Canadian chapters. The Ottawa chapter needs a Webmaster, Treasurer and Chapter Lead. Please consider offering to help, as an individual or couple. You can do it for a while.
The demand on a Chapter Lead is about one day per month, a few minutes or an hour at a time. Web Master and Treasurer: around one day per year. If you or a grieving parent you know choose to do this, kindly RSVP me.
The work is not demanding in terms of complexity or time commitment and there is never a need for hard-nosed negotiation or arguing and that sort of thing. It is always pleasant and other parents offer to help.
There is no salary, no company pension and no dental plan with any of these jobs. The essential qualifications for Chapter Lead are:
1. Basic email ability
2. Compassion for someone whose child has died.
The Webmaster, of course, cares for the website and the Treasurer monitors and drafts one brief annual report in a provided format.
