Due to construction work at CHEO, the Annual Live Butterfly Release Memorial Event on is to be held at the serene and historic Beechwood Cemetery in Ottawa on Sunday, June 8th, 2025 at 3:00 PM,.
This heartfelt gathering brings our community together to honour and remember loved ones. The afternoon will include live music, thoughtful reflections, light refreshments, and the release of live Painted Lady butterflies—symbols of transformation, healing, and hope.
We are honoured to welcome Rob Boyd as our guest speaker. Rob is the father of Connor Boyd, who died at the age of 21 in the tragic September 2013 OC Transpo and VIA Rail collision in Barrhaven. Rob will share his grief journey—from the early days of loss to the healing he has found over time. Rob is the CEO of Ottawa Inner City Health, and finds peace in nature, working around his property, and spending time outdoors.
