No one seems to understand what it means to lose a child like another parent who has gone through a similar loss. The monthly sharing circle offers an opportunity to share feelings, emotions and experiences in an atmosphere of trust, empathy, and confidentiality.
TCF Ottawa now offers two opportunities each month for parents to meet — an in-person meeting on the third Tuesday of the month, and a Zoom online sharing meeting on the first Thursday.
In-person Sharing Circle:
When: The Ottawa Chapter meets on the third Tuesday of each month from
7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Where: We meet at The Best Western Hotel and Conference Centre in Bells Corners, 1876 Robertson Rd.

Zoom Online Sharing ‘Circle’:
TCF Ottawa meets virtually the first Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. ET. Watch for access instructions each month on our website. Pre-registration NOT required. All are welcome, regardless of geographic location/zone. Please join us.
Please note that we treat what is discussed at the sharing circles as privileged information.

Below and on the next page are some frequently asked questions about the sharing circle:
If I go to a meeting, will I have to talk?
No one is required to talk at any meeting. We understand how difficult that can be when our grief is so fresh. We do ask that you listen, however.
My child was an adult and didn’t live at home. Can I still go to a meeting?
Chapter meetings are open to all families who have experienced the death of a child, at any age, from any cause. Regardless of age, we in TCF believe our children will always be thought of as just that – our children.
