Dear Compassionate Friend:
A quick reminder of some upcoming events to include in your summer schedule.
1. Sharing Circles – 3rd Tuesday
Our Circles will continue on the third Tuesday of each month through the summer at The Olde Forge Community Resource Centre. The next meetings will be on June 16th, July 21st, August 18th and September 15th. There are no fees to attend any of our events or activities and no need to register in advance. For directions and a map, please visit our Chapter website www.tcfottawa.net.
2. Balloon Release – Saturday June 20th
The Balloon Release will take place next Saturday June 20th, at The Butterfly Garden at CHEO at 2pm, with registration starting at 1:30. The ceremony features live music by a choir from Canterbury High School and release of live butterflies by the younger children. Please feel free to forward the attached poster to anyone whom you think would like to attend, also print for display in your workplace, community centre, doctor’s office or place of worship. If you have difficulty opening the attachment, you can download a free .pdf reader from www.adobe.com or www.foxit.com.
There will be a volunteer work party to prepare the Garden on Friday June 19th at 2pm. If you are available to contribute an hour or two, please contact Bob Cumming at bobcumming.
3. Summer Social – Saturday July 18th
Eileen and I will be hosting our annual pot-luck Summer Social on July 18th. Any bereaved parent is welcome to join us whether or not they have previously attended a Circle meeting or other event. Please mark your calendar – more details nearer the date.
4. Conference – “In Loving Memory” – April 2016
Following the death of their daughter Lisa in 1998, Linda and Glen Neilson founded “In Loving Memory” to support parents with no surviving children. They are organizing their 6th national conference in April 2016 in Northern Virginia. For more information about their support group and conference, please visit www.InLovingMemoryConference.org.

In addition to information about our events and activities, our Chapter website (www.tcfottawa.net) contains links to several useful resources, including our Chapter library and newsletters from Chapters in Kamloops and Vancouver Island.
