Dear Compassionate Friend:
Summer officially arrives next week, along with several special chapter activities. We hope that you will be able to join us at one of more of them. Note that the Sharing Circles continue on the third Tuesday of every month throughout the year.
- Balloon Release – Saturday, June 17th
The 16th annual Balloon Release will take place in the gardens at Ronald McDonald House, 407 Smyth Road (next to CHEO) followed by a butterfly release at The Butterfly Garden. We invite you to join us for this brief but moving memorial to those children who have left us too soon. Registration will be open from 1:30pm and the ceremony will start at 2:00pm. Balloons and light refreshments will be provided and The Canterbury Chamber Chorus will provide a musical backdrop. Please forward the attached poster to anyone that you feel would like to attend.
- Sharing Circle – Tuesday, June 20th
Our regular monthly meeting will be held at The Olde Forge, 2730 Carling Avenue (at Richmond Road) from 7pm to 9pm. There are no fees to attend and no need to register in advance. Please plan to arrive a few minutes early to check in.
- Summer Social – Saturday, July 29th
Eileen and I will be hosting our Summer Social a couple of weeks later this year but hope that you will still be able to join us. Everyone is welcome, whether or not you have attended a Sharing Circle or other TCF event. The format is a non-stress, casual pot-luck dinner – just bring your favourite dish – starter, entrée or dessert – to share. More details nearer the date.
- National Gathering – August 25th – 27th
On-line registration is now available through the TCF Canada website (www.tcfcanada.net) for the National Gathering in Medicine Hat, Alberta from Friday to Sunday, August 25th to 27th. Preliminary program information will be posted in the next few days. We encourage everyone to think about attending this Gathering and meeting other parents from across Canada. If you would like to share accommodation to reduce costs, please let me know and I will put you in touch with others. If you have any questions or would like more information, please reply to this e-mail.
- National Newsletter
The National Office of TCF Canada sends out brief monthly newsletter with items of interest to chapters and parents from coast to coast. I have attached the May newsletter for your information and you can find previous issues and newsletters from other chapters on our Ottawa website – www.tcfottawa.net.
- Unsubscribe
If you would prefer not to receive these occasional updates, please reply to this e-mail and I will remove you from our mailing list.
Best wishes,
Andy Bond
