Dear Compassionate Friend:
As we finally leave the wet Spring behind and look forward to warmer, drier days, here are some events that we hope will help maintain a positive outlook.
- Sharing Circles – third Tuesday of every month
Our Sharing Circles continue on the third Tuesday of every month from 7pm to 9pm at The Olde Forge Community Resource Centre, 2730 Carling Avenue (at Richmond Road). Our next meetings are July 18th, September 19th, October 17th and November 21st. There are no fees to attend and no need to register in advance – please arrive a few minutes early to sign in. You can find directions and a map on our Chapter website www.tcfottawa.net.
- Summer Social – Saturday, July 29th
Eileen and I will once again be hosting our Summer Social and hope that you will be able to join us starting at 4:30pm. Everyone is welcome, whether or not you have attended a Sharing Circle or other TCF event. The format is a non-stress, casual pot-luck dinner – just bring your favourite dish – starter, entrée or dessert – to share. Plates, cutlery etc. will be provided; drinks would be appreciated. If you have any questions, or need directions, please reply to this e-mail. We are located in South Nepean between Barrhaven and Manotick.
- National Gathering – August 25th to 27th
On-line registration is now available through the TCF Canada website (www.tcfcanada.net) for the National Gathering in Medicine Hat, Alberta from Friday to Sunday, August 25th to 27th. We encourage everyone to think about attending this Gathering and meeting other parents from across Canada. If you would like to share accommodation to reduce costs, please let me know and I will put you in touch with others. If you have any questions or would like more information, please reply to this e-mail.
- Newsletter from TCF Canada National Office
The attached special edition newsletter from TCF Canada is to announce the recent passing of Lady Patricia Brabourne, Countess Mountbatten of Burma, who was the Patron of The Compassionate Friends in the UK. She also had a particular connection to Canada as the Patron of the Princess Patricia’s Light Infantry based in Winnipeg and was well known to the TCF Chapter in Winnipeg.
Our Facebook host Patti, has decided to turn off her keyboard, so we are presently looking for a replacement as our on-line representative. If you have some knowledge of social media and are comfortable providing support on-line, please reply to this e-mail.
- Unsubscribe
If you would prefer not to receive these occasional updates, please reply to this e-mail and I will remove you from our mailing list.
Best wishes,
Andy Bond
